ABSTRACT
This chapter begins with a thorough overview of the literature on quantum-behaved particle swarm optimisation (QPSO) followed by the formulation based on the motivations of the QPSO algorithm. A discussion is given of the fundamental model-a quantum δ potential well model-for QPSO algorithm. Details of applying the algorithm to solve typical optimisation problems are provided. Several variations of the QPSO method are also included towards the end of this chapter.
