ABSTRACT
Geometric surveying of caverns is made using sonic
tools on the basis of travel time measurements. In
this method, the time taken by an acoustic pulse to
travel from the measuring tool to the cavern wall and
back is determined, i.e. the measured travel time cor-
responds to the two-fold distance (Fig. 1).
