ABSTRACT
Magnetic properties are inherent in many synthetic and natural substances. Some materials, like lodestone, can come out of the ground with good magnetic properties. Others can be influenced to acquire magnetic properties. When electricity is applied to substances with good conductivity, such as copper or iron, it is possible to turn them into electromagnets.
