ABSTRACT
Chapter 4 discussed the origin of evidence as it relates to the two fundamental principles in forensic science: the principle of divisible matter and the Locard Exchange Principle. The relationship between the macroscene and microscene elements was covered in some detail. This chapter expands on the concept of trace evidence and explores hair and fiber evidence as examples of microscene elements commonly found at crime scenes.
