ABSTRACT

As defined in Section 2.2, creep is the time-dependent deformation under a constant load. The constitutive relations that describe the stress-strain behavior have been derived form mechanical models in Section 3.1. Here attention is given to the creep strength. Unlike the static ultimate strength S u, there is no unique creep rupture strength. The ultimate strength in creep, S uc depends on time (t), temperature (T), and other ambient conditions, that is, () S uc = S uc ( t ,   T ,   condition ) https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-p.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9780429107214/0637e851-038e-4254-a272-a6a5c7665813/content/eq162.tif"/>
