ABSTRACT

The need to integrate information and communication technology (ICT) and space technology into the curriculum through a general and nationwide policy has become a necessity rather than an option. Using computers and managing files, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, creating presentations, finding information and communicating with computers, social and ethical issues, and jobs using ICT are all within this ever-expanding technology. ICT needs to be integrated into all national education systems in order to realize higher quantity and quality of education. Using the power of multimedia and simulation to explain abstract and hard-to-understand concepts and to sustain interest and curiosity even in an otherwise dull school environment are only some tangible outcomes of the impact of ICT on education. Through space technologies one can penetrate deep into the earth, ocean, or dense jungles and extract information from thousands of miles away. Floods could be prevented by forecasting the amount of water resulting from snowmelt, months before it even happens.
