Dealing with Faults

The preference is always to use the four approaches in the order listed above. We must start by trying to avoid faults. Only if we cannot avoid them should we try to eliminate them. Only if we cannot eliminate them should we try to tolerate them. And finally, if we cannot tolerate them, then we have to resort to trying to forecast them.
