ABSTRACT
This chapter presents an introduction of technical standards and certiŽcation processes for wind turbines (WTs). Section 10.2 deŽnes the technical standard formal concept and describes its strategic value. Section 10.3 presents the structure and development procedures for new standards. Section 10.4 introduces the fundamentals of the certiŽcation of WTs, as well as the impact of the controller design in the process. Some key deŽnitions are given in Section 10.5.
