ABSTRACT

In the last two decades, the use of composite materials has grown considerably. The rapid upscaling of the Žber-reinforced composites in the industry, as well as their lightweight, design «exibility, strength, stiffness, low fatigue, and corrosion resistance, has made companies increase their interest in this Želd. Composite applications range from space exploration to alternative energies. This chapter addresses the temperature control of a multivariable industrial furnace destined to manufacture (polymerize) large composite pieces in general and wind turbine blades in particular (see Figure 16.1).
