Child abuse is the mistreatment and exploitation of a child, o¦en by a family member who is most o¦en male. Child abuse is also putting a child in imminent jeopardy that is most likely to cause the child severe harm. is chapter will focus on sexual abuse, physical abuse (nonaccidental, physical injury), emotional abuse (behavioral), and neglect (abandonment).
