ABSTRACT

Checking performance This chapter describes the requirements for checking the performance of an ISO 50001 Energy Management System (EnMS), which is described in the ISO 50001 standard, Section 4.6.

The standard requires the organization to ensure that the key characteristics of its operations determining energy performance are monitored, measured, and analyzed at planned intervals. Key characteristics shall include, at a minimum:

a. The outputs of the energy review b. Significant energy uses c. The relationship between significant energy use and consumption,

and relevant variables d. Energy performance indicators (EnPIs) e. Effectiveness of the action plans in achieving objectives and targets

The outputs of the energy review refer to outputs required for the review (see Chapter 4.3), in which past, present, and future energy uses are characterized.
