ABSTRACT
This chapter explains how the information related to Stirling regenerators is applicable also to other areas. These areas includes applications where porous media are used, such as combustion processes, catalytic reactors, packed-bed heat exchangers, electronicscooling, heat pipes, thermal insulation engineering, nuclear waste repository, miniaturerefrigerators, characterization of heat transport through biological media,and porous scaffolds for tissueengineering, to name a few. Only the Žrst few applications will be discussed in this chapter.
