ABSTRACT
Training and competency in safety are critical requirements for preserving the health and safety of all workers in the workplace. There are many types of technical safety courses that vary from job to job, which workers are required to be trained in and demonstrate competency. This chapter focuses on the skills and capabilities that are required to ensure that work is completed safely at all times. The authors will also focus on the challenges to achieving the safety vision of the organization and the training and competency requirements that enable personnel to support and achieve this vision.
