ABSTRACT
For most organizations, where people are exposed to health and safety hazards, Safety Managagement Systems (SMSs) are developed to ensure the health and safety of all workers. In this chapter, we explore the requirements of an SMS that provides the requirements for ensuring the health and safety of all workers. An SMS should generally address the health and safety requirements for protecting people, the environment, and assets, in the same order.
