ABSTRACT

Bread is considered the most common food for mankind since men became sedentary and practiced farming. The manufacturing of primitive types of at breads is well documented. Different types of breads originated since prehistoric times. Bread is a sacred symbol for Christians, Jews, Greeks, and Egyptians. There are clear indications of the production of bread by the Egyptian culture in times of Ramses III 1,200 years b.c. Bread is manufactured using common ingredients (our, water, salt, sugar) and simple utensils, and it is staple for most cultures around the globe due to its high nutritional value and highly digestible caloric value.
