Geological hazards are natural processes that may constitute damaging events. The geodynamic processes that affect the earth’s surface produce hazards of varying characteristics, magnitude, frequency, extent and speed that may become geological risks if they affect populated areas or human activities directly or indirectly (Table 15.1).
