ABSTRACT

Does milk make a child grow tall? One reason often quoted for making sure that children of all ages get enough calcium and vitamin D, especially in the form of milk, is to make sure they grow tall. We intuitively believe that our children will be taller if they drink lots of milk that contains the calcium needed for growth. Few take note that there are plenty of children who never drink milk who have quite normal growth patterns. We are not vegans nor are we opponents of milk, but we also do not agree with any attempt to scare people into drinking cow’s milk who truly wish to avoid it for themselves or their children.
