ABSTRACT

Casing collapses in oil wells significantly affect the productivity and economical development of oilfields. These failures are usually associated with non-uniform loading, or with stress concentration as a result of following the influences:

• Adjacent or intruding salt bodies. • Depletion, compaction, and subsidence of high-porosity reservoirs. • Reactivation of faults or discontinuities. • Complex tectonic active regions.
