ABSTRACT
Sheet metals are characterized by very large area-to-thickness ratio. They are the output of ¨at rolling with thicknesses up to about 6 mm, as described in the previous chapter. Sheet forming processes have been developed tremendously during the last century to cope with the vast improvement of many industries, such as automotive, aerospace, electronics, household appliances and utensils, etc. Sheet metal products have high strength, good dimensional accuracy and surface nish, and economical mass production for large quantities.
