Investments involve people putting their money to work for them. As one observer said, “How do you make a million? You start with $900,000.” And where do you get the $900,000? Some inherit, some invent, some work for a living. Some sell dope. But no matter how people make the money in the ˆrst place, if they’re smart, they’re going to invest the proceeds. If the proceeds are from an illegal activity, they may be laundering money. If they’re really smart, they’re laundering their money in the markets.
