ABSTRACT
This book is devoted to a complete and up-to-date treatment of scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM). In this introductory chapter, we cover the historical background of the technique, the basic principles of SECM, and an overview of some of its applications (covered in more depth in the later chapters). A number of general reviews of this –eld have also been published.1-11 More focused reviews to particular topics are indicated in the following chapters.
