ABSTRACT
After World War II, improvements in statistical analysis enabled reliable measurements of new therapeutic and interventional procedures. Data collection increased and produced the framework for systemic data synthesis, meta-analyses, and evidence-driven decision making. This framework ultimately led to the use of clinical practice guidelines that focused on the process of care delivery (Eknoyan, 2010).
