ABSTRACT
Suppose that f is a function and x is in the domain of f . Then the iterates of x, which consist of x, f(x), f(f(x)), f(f(f(x))), · · · , form the orbit of x. The kinds of orbits that are possible for various values of x and for different functions constitute the basis for the study of chaos.
