ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the marketing of dates from the farm gate to the Ÿnal consumer both locally and at export markets. This chapter is arranged as follows: The section “Date Fruit Production and Trade” highlights global date production and trade. The section “Date Marketing Channels” looks at date marketing channels. In the section “Marketing Channels,” date marketing channels in Oman, Tunisia, Pakistan, and Iraq are presented and brie¨y discussed. The section “Packaging, Shipment, and Documentation” reviews issues related to dates packaging, shipment, and documentation. The Ÿnal section is the conclusion.
