ABSTRACT
Date palm (Phoenix dactylifera) is an important fruit crop of the Arabian peninsula and is closely associated with the cultural and religious practices of the region. Its production has increased considerably in the last three decades, making it imperative to develop various postharvest technologies for its preservation and handling.
