ABSTRACT

A solar thermoelectric generator (STEG) consists of thermoelectric (TE) devices sandwiched between a solar absorber and a heat sink as schematically shown in Figure 24.1. še solar absorber converts the sunlight into heat and concentrates it onto one side of the thermoelectric generator (TEG). še heat is then transported through the TEG and partially converted into electrical power by the TEG. še excess heat at the cold junction of the TEG is removed by a heat sink in order to maintain an appreciable temperature di¤erence across the TEG.
