ABSTRACT
This paper is dedicated to the present understanding of the surface free energy of polymers, a topic which is both theoretically stimulating and practically impor tant.
The dominant paradigm appears to be the multicomponent theory, i.e. the pos sibility to divide the surface free energy of a solid according to the different kinds of forces acting among the molecules.
