In the example of the medical transportation company, the investigator would compare the payment records of the insurance providers with the medical facilities’ patient logs and identify those patients who were used for the purpose of œling false claims. If the transportation company records are made available (by waiver of the company, by subpoena, or through the execution of a search warrant), they could be used in the same manner of comparison to identify the false claims.
