ABSTRACT
To compare the information obtained by the pull-off test (AFNOR, * NFT 30062) with that obtained by the three-point flexure test (AFNOR, NFT 30010) [1-4], industrial paints (alkyd, vinyl, epoxy, and polyurethane binders) were applied onto cold-rolled steel. The locus of failure (initiation and propagation) occurring during mechanical tests was investigated using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), electron microprobe analysis (EMPA), and FTIR microspectrometry [5-9].
