ABSTRACT

Geochemical methods of prospecting for major types of mining chemical raw materials, such as apatite, phosphorites, boron, fluorite, native sulphur, and salts, are discussed in this section. The chemical composition of a mineral, i.e. the content of phosphorus, fluorine, boron, potassium, sulphur, bromide, and so on, is most important for the deposits of this group. Many of these elements are extracted from fossil and recent deposits, and from groundwater.
