ABSTRACT

Graphical techniques are well recognized for their advantage in providing good insights for problem analysis. In this chapter, a commonly used graphical technique for the targeting of various resource conservation networks (RCNs), is introduced i.e., material recovery pinch diagram (MRPD), developed independent by El-Halwagi et al. (2003) as well as Prakash and Shenoy (2005). This chapter focuses on the targeting of a direct reuse/recycle RCN for both single and multiple fresh resources. Besides, targeting for multiple fresh resources and threshold problems are also discussed.
