ABSTRACT

In previous chapters, we learnt how a resource conservation network (RCN) that achieves the minimum resource target is synthesized. This includes the direct reuse/recycle as well as the material regeneration networks. In this chapter, we learn how to identify waste streams from an RCN from a targeting view point, using graphical and algebraic techniques. We then learn how to target the minimum treatment ¤owrate needed for these waste streams. We then combine the techniques to synthesize the RCN in an overall framework known as the total material network (TMN).
