Overweight is now recognized as a risk factor for overall mortality and cardiovascular disease, diabetes, gallbladder disease, cancer, and many other diseases.1,2 In this context, it is important to evaluate and treat obesity and other risk factors to reduce the overall likelihood for developing these comorbid diseases and to reduce the social consequences of being obese.
