ABSTRACT

Research and management in wildlife ecology and conservation have undergone radical changes in the past seventy-šve years, including shifts from traditional game management to conservation biology, and from single-species management to ecosystem management. The next šfteen to twenty years will represent a critical juncture for wildlife conservation and management, an arena that faces at least four long-term, ongoing challenges: habitat loss, invasive exotic species, climate change, and demographic changes in the wildlife constituency.
