ABSTRACT

Poly(butylene terephthalate) (PBT) is one of the most promising and universal thermoplastic polymers that is widely used as an engineering material [ 12).

PBT has been known for about 60 years [4]. Recently PBT has attracted more attention of scientists and industrial manufacturers [5, 6). Noteworthy, at present its annual production is increased by 5-7% that is associated with the

expansion ofPBT-based composite materials into various branches of industry [7]. Until now PBT did not attract much attention due to relatively high cost of

the raw materials - 1 ,4-butanediol and dimethyl terephthalate.
