ABSTRACT
An ordinary Si3N4 A F M tip can be seen as a small particle with a radius value equal to the tip radius, as the apex of the pyramidal tip can be approximated by a spherical shape. The influence of roughness and heterogeneity of the substrate on the adhesion of this 'particle' was studied by A F M (force-volume measurements).
