ABSTRACT
Polyimidesareversatileengineeringpolymershavingreasonablygoodmechanicalproperties,goodchemicalresistance,lowdielectricconstantandhighthermal stability.Theyare,therefore,prominentpolymersamongsthigh-performance, high-temperature-stableorganicmaterials[1].However,thesearchfornewpolyimidesortheirhybridswithotherorganicorinorganicmaterialswhichwould provideimprovedprocessabilityandhigherglasstransitiontemperatures(Tg)with desiredmechanicalpropertiesthanthecommerciallyavailablepolymershasreceivedsignificantongoingattentionfrombothacademiaandindustries.
