Monthly dues that United Front, the trade union, members paid for representation contributed more than 90 percent of the trade union’s income. As the trade union’s fortunes dwindled, the shortcomings of the revenue collectionshow revenue was collected and what was done with it-became a major issue for the union. Trade union members became more knowledgeable and demanded far more e¦ective use of the paid dues, as well as transparency and accountability for those responsible.
