ABSTRACT
It is well known that the strain localization of geomaterials causes such important problems as slope failure. In slope failure, deformation occurs in a narrow zone. In other words, strain localization is closely related to the onset of failure (Scott 1987). In the present chapter, strain localization problems are reviewed, and the instability and the numerical simulation of strain localization will be presented.
