ABSTRACT

We begin by defining the basic idea of a sequence of elements in X. In what follows, unless specifically noted otherwise, we emphasize that references to elements x ∈ X include the cases of x ∈ R, x ∈ Rk, and z ∈ C. In statements of results that rely on the associated algebra of the space (in particular, whether or not the space possesses the field properties), the definition or theorem will mention this fact, and refer to x ∈ R and z ∈ Cmore explicitly and exclusively.
