ABSTRACT
A principal goal of the chapter is to establish the renowned Dirichlet Theorem on primes in arithmetic progression. In order to do so, we need to generalize the Riemann ζ-function, which we studied in detail in §5.3. The generalization requires the introduction of the following notion, the topic of this section.
