During all your kaizen events and projects, it is important to remember to gemba. Take a walk with your team to the area you want to change so that all of you see what needs to be done.
When you are asking people to try new things, it is important for you, the person giving the instructions, to verify for yourself the results of your request. Therefore, it is important for you to visit the actual location of the
change, be it on the production floor, in the office, or at another factory. Why is this important? Because it is extremely important that you gain the trust and respect of the people you are asking to change the way they do things; and without that trust, people will not follow through with the change.
