ABSTRACT
In opening this chapter, we advocate for an alternative virtual view of simulated sentinels that send signals from their stations regarding status of the setting in which they are situated. The posting point localities are the sentinel stations, and the vicinity variates are the signals. This conceptual context is also conducive to con¢guring several series of sentinels that might, for example, be strategically stationed along crucial corridors. The precedence paradigm can provide interpretive interfaces for sentinel systems.
