ABSTRACT
Today computers are used in all types of environments-in offices, manufacturing, farming, construction, military operations, and at home. About 50% of the households in Western countries in 2004 had a computer at home; the Scandinavian countries led with 80% of homes having computers. In the early writings about computer terminal workplaces, they were referred to as visual display terminal (VDT) workplaces. In this chapter we refer to computer workplaces.
