ABSTRACT
No industrial measurement is more important than the accurate detection of the ow rates of gases, liquids, and solids. In this section, an overview is given of the availability and characteristics of some of the most widely used ow sensors. In addition, emphasis is given to the latest developments, such as the polyphase (oil/water/gas) and the wide-rangeability dual-rotor turbine owmeters. General guidelines are provided about selecting the best ow sensor for a particular application.
