ABSTRACT

The focus of this book has been on what you can do to coach executives to develop leadership competencies. For the most part, we have looked at the coaching intervention on an ad hoc, case-bycase basis. If the process is as effective as we say it can be, coaching for competencies can become the basis of an organizational strategy. Once a few executives have experienced the power of this approach firsthand, they would be in a better position to commit the money and time to use coaching as a systematic way to develop leaders at all levels of the organization. The first part of this chapter presents an overview of how to implement an organization-wide coaching program.
