ABSTRACT
We must design jobs in such a way that workers can effectively control the
[automated] controls, modifying them and regulating them to prevent
failures and errors anticipated by the engineers. To do so, we must transcend
our Taylorist inheritance and develop a new theory and practice of job
design.
