ABSTRACT
The objective of the design transfer and manufacturing phase is to develop metrics to ensure the design is ready to be manufactured, assuring that the metrics are met, and then to begin the manufacturing process according to approved manufacturing plans. The activities include:
• Developing design transfer metrics • Assuring design transfer metrics are met during the initial builds • Hardware manufacturing • Software manufacturing • Device manufacturing • Conguration management • Documenting everything
At the completion of the design transfer and manufacturing phase, certain documented deliverables should be completed before moving on to the next phase of the development process. Management reviews the deliverables and decides whether the project has done sufcient work to merit moving on to the next phase.
