ABSTRACT

During the last ten years, Finland has renewed its innovation landscape by establishing six strategic centers for science, technology and innovation (SHOKs). The Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation (TEKES) has committed to the development of SHOKs, as well as, funding their research programs and projects. One of the strategic centers, RYM Ltd, is dedicated to the built environment (later RYM). RYM “invests the funds and know-how of companies and public financiers of innovation in research areas most important for international competitiveness” (RYM 2012).
