ABSTRACT

One would think that a smartphone is just too small to handle enterprise-level computing, let alone enterprise-level social networking. Since modern smartphones have morphed into tiny, full-fledged computers, compete with some pretty sophisticated features and thousands of apps to choose from, we will spend some time about mobile social enterprising. The mobile version of Socialtext includes almost all the features found in its downloadable application. Organizations intent on building proprietary social enterprising applications that take advantage of the mobile platform have a few feature-rich, extensible operating systems that support third-party applications to chose from. Each of these software platforms provides a set of APIs, programming tools, and a software emulator that permits testing without the need for the physical device. Android is a software stack for mobile devices that includes an operating system, middleware, and key applications.
